Citrix Octoblu - Connect Everything to Everything

Imagine to be able to connect any device using any protocol to everything else. Citrix Octoblu is described as an Internet of Everything platform that allows the connection of devices, APIs running any protocol to each other.

In this overview session, John Moody will share his experiences with connecting robots to twitter, and getting far too involved in Node.js than he ever thought, and provide an overview of this exciting (mostly) open source platform. This would suit anyone who is interested in IoT, programmers, non-programmers, hackers, or anyone looking to connect “things” to each other.

By day, John Moody is an Operational Architect for a European Managed Service Provider and has working with virtualisation and  EUC technology for nearly 20 years.  By night, he’s making IoT robots, learning to solder and helping out with events at Nottingham Hackspace.

Behaviour Driven Development: Telling Stories Through Code

Stories? Scenarios? BDD? Are these just more words in the ever-growing list of jargon that developers have to know? Or are they something more important than new terms to memorise? 

In this session we'll look at how BDD fits into the software development work-flow, how to tell user stories through features, and what makes a good feature file. 

These techniques will help to ensure you're writing well designed and tested software that focuses on what the users really want from a system.
